She refused over & over, simply saying “later.” Her diagnosis was terminal, so my overwhelming feeling of “running out of time” was building up. One day after a particularly tough doctor’s appointment, I asked her for the 100th time about pictures. She again replied “later.” Feeling desperate, I closed my eyes and quietly pleaded, “God, give me a sign.” When I opened up my eyes – BAM – the message was right there in 4 powerful words. "Mom, read what's on your shirt." She looked down and slowly said out loud: “Don’t…wait…too…long.” With big tears in our eyes and even bigger smiles on our faces, we took the photos you see here on this page. ...to make someone happy - …to make someone happy My Don’t Wait Too Long tee got here yesterday and what a story to tell….one day about 10 years ago this cute little gal was giving the news to us on tv in great falls, Cindy, and she had this pink and green necklace on. I call the station, asked for Cindy, didn’t ask about the news but about the cute pink and green necklace she was wearing, and she is so kind to this crazy person, me:) Sadly, for us, she stops doing the news but is now an awesome photographer. She comes out to Hobson and does an awesome job with our family photos, which need to be done again. We are similar on the fact that we have amazing families and friends we love dearly and have both recently suffered the loss of a parent. Cindy already understands the pain cancer can cause and the huge heart she has by helping send children with cancer to camp makes her even more beautiful inside and out. Cindy sent me my Don’t Wait Tee and out rolled the pink and green necklace (and tears) as I think of her and other things I am not going to wait too long to do. She is doing amazing things and she is going to make that baby so proud of her like she is of her mom. Whether my husband or even my mother tell me so..maybe its my stubborness or my inability to admit I was wrong. I was turning 25, and I felt as though I hadn’t done much with my life as far as going to college and feeling accomplished with a career. I had a good job and a great husband, but my self-esteem was low. But of course God came through with the best birthday gift I could ever receive. Learning I was pregnant with Lily was life-altering. I no longer doubted myself. I’ve always wanted to be a mom, and my dream was beginning. After having her, the time rapidly approached for me to go back to work, but nothing seemed to be falling in to place. And thus came the decision for me to stay at home. I have never been happier. I realized that I don’t have to be like everyone else, but can still applaud and be proud of their hard work. Being a SAHM is a tough job, but everything I ever wanted. I am incredibly thankful for a supportive husband who has made this all possible. I wear my DWTL shirt in honor of my father who passed away from cancer when I was 6 months pregnant with Charlie, who would’ve been his very first grandchild. He supported every crazy idea I ever had & urged me to move to Montana (alone!) 10 years ago, to begin a new career. Without his DWTL attitude, I would’ve never met some of my best friends or my awesome husband & I wouldn’t be the person I am today!
